Essay on Peshawar Carnage Or Peshawar Incident Or A Black Day of Pakistan

PESHAWAR CARNAGE OR PESHAWAR INCIDENT

Terrorism is a menace for a world. It is an act of terrifying people. It effects the whole economy of the country. Unfortunately, Pakistan is under attack of terrorism. She has faced most of the attacks in which Pakistan International Airport, Mehran Base Attack, Wagha Border and the most horrible, Peshawar incident are included.
The Peshawar carnage was the brutal act of Taliban. They entered in the school from the back through a cemetery adjacent to the school after having scaled the walls. Before entering the school, the gunmen set fire to the Suzuki Bolan ST41 van on the road in which they had arrived. This was to divert people’s attention. The terrorists, bearing automatic weapons, moved straight toward the auditorium located at the center of the complex and opened fire indiscriminately on the children who were gathered there for a school function. According to Major-General Asim Bajwa, the terrorists did not intend to take any hostages but instead wanted to kill as many pupils as they could. As the terrorists opened fire, many of the pupils ran toward the two exits on the other side of the auditorium, but many of them were gunned down in the garden.
Reports also surfaced that pupils were forced to watch teachers, including Principal Tahira Kazi, being burned alive before them. Within 15 minutes Pakistan Army came and the gunmen moved to the administration block of the school and took hostages there. One of the gunmen was shot by the military personnel near the auditorium, while the other six managed to make it to the administration block. Special teams of snipers and their spotters pinpointed the terrorists; three of the six attackers were killed by the snipers from the windows and air vents, while the other three were killed when the commandos stormed the building and rescued the remaining hostages in the process. About 141 people, including 132 children and nine staff members of the school were killed by Taliban and seven commandos including two officers, were injured in the battle. A search and clearance operation was started immediately to defuse any IEDs planted by Taliban within the school premises or in the suicide vests that the terrorists were wearing.
In this incident, the media played a vital role. They did aware us from everything. This report was surfaced by media that it was a revenge of Taliban for Operation Zarb-e-Azb, the Pakistani military's offensive in North Waziristan that started in summer 2014.

All political parties and countries’ ministers strongly condemned this incident. Pakistan’s Government strictly took action and on 14 January 2015, five men were arrested in Afghanistan over suspicion of being involved in the attack by Afghan Security Forces after the Pakistani Authorities provided intelligence information. And the school was reopened on 12 January 2015 by the Government of Pakistan under the Hawkeye of Pakistan's security forces.
